A Walk on the Wild Side

A Social History of our Relationship with Animals

What inspires artists to draw and paint animals? What makes people want to create taxidermy from dead animals?

A Walk on the Wild Side is an exhibition that explores our relationship with animals,  from the early renaissance period through to modern history. A mixture of natural history, fine art, and everyday objects, this exhibition explores why humans have an enduring fascination and curiosity with the animal kingdom. Highlights of the exhibitions are exciting loans from the British Museum, alongside objects from the museum collection.

Exhibition will run from 11 June - 20 September 2015

A special schools session is available through the run of this exhibition.
