Tunbridge Wells Museum & Art Gallery - Your Help Is Needed

Your Help Is Needed

Your Help Is Needed

Tuesday 4 October 16

As Artists in Residence, it is very important to us both that we go out and meet folks from all walks of life. To understand a place it is essential that we meet the residents, workers and cleaners. So far in Tunbridge Wells we have had hugely insightful and generously open conversations with receptionists, taxi drivers, a shoe repairer and a rough sleeper.

A particular conversation has sparked the beginning of a project, for which we’d like to gather some specific material, it’s here that we’d really like your help:

If you have any left over embroidery thread (DMC 25 standard thread any colour) and embroidery canvas (preferably 18 x 14 inches) and could drop it into the Museum, addressed care of Polly Harknett, ‘Shelved’ Residency Project (or send it c/o Polly Harknett, Cultural Projects Manager, ‘Shelved’ Residency Project, Tunbridge Wells Museum and Art Gallery, Civic Centre, Mount Pleasant Rd, Royal Tunbridge Wells, Tunbridge Wells TN1 1JN).  We would be hugely grateful for your time and willingness to assist us and our project: Shelved.

We would like to acknowledge the donors in the project – in our Shelved exhibition materials, so if you would like to,  please give us your name along with your donation.
