A wonderful day.
Leaving the Museum and Art Gallery became important. It felt essential for us to get an understanding of the lie of the land and to have time to explore.
So, with the heritage map in hand and a shared terrible sense of direction, we went off in search of all things Tunbridge Wells.
One of the things that became apparent on our two hours of hilly exploration, was the benches around the common, with their detailed castings and what looked like the original timber on the seat and back; they were a real highlight.
Sometimes it’s great to be a non-local, to see and then bring into sharp focus the everyday, that can otherwise be so easily missed!
